About Faculty of Fundamental Sciences

The Faculty of Fundamental Sciences is the largest faculty at the university by the number os lecturers. The organization is composed of ten departments, six science laboratories, and five teacing laboratories. The faculty employs 268 lecturers including 33 professors and 132 associate professors. Our faculty lecturers teach fundamental science subjects in all other faculties of the university usually in the first years of study; they also work with bachelor, master, and doctoral students in the fields of informatics, biotechnologies, mathematics, and statistics.

 

Highlight of the Faculty

Mobile Applications Laboratory opened at VGTU Faculty of Fundamental Sciences

Today, the fourth Mobile Applications Laboratory in Lithuania was opened at VGTU Faculty of Fundamental Sciences. The laboratory is the result of collaboration of Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, Microsoft Lithuania, Nokia Lithuania, Omnitel and AppCamp telecommunications’ companies. The Laboratory is the largest of its kind among those established in Lithuania and has 40 work places. The interior of the Laboratory was designed by students.
